Stage 2 today goes from Obernai to Esch-Sur-Alzette. 228KM. Plus 10-15 more K of “neutral” areas. Not sure what that means but I think when we get in each town we do some loops in the town which are not counted in the overall distance. But what’s a few more K among friends they say. I am OK with adding some distance, but I am not sure Mr. B will agree, we’ll see how it fares today.

Anyway, we finish in Luxemburg today and I do not believe there will be Internet access there. So I will probably not post an update until we finish Stage 3.

The profile of the route for Stage 2 shows some Cat 3 at the beginning and some Cat 4 climbs at the end. At least something to change the monotony of this long flat ride. To put it in perspective, On stage 1 we had a single Cat 4 climb, which felt like Belmont Ridge for those of you in the Northern Virginia area. So Cat 4 is not really a climb but a short 1-2KM steady hill.

Hey Alberto,
Great job with the blog. A great read with great pics! Try A&D ointment as chamois cream for the sore butt. Saved me a few times.

Betito,
I am still amazed that you are doing all this for free. In fact, you are paying for this type of pain. It sounds like you are enjoying yourself. Keep it up. En vez que el ala mata, mejor decimos el poto duele.
